Hon. (Dr.) Rufus Omeire

Rufus Omeire was born in Nigeria to a humble beginning and migrated to United States at a very young age. He Studied biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill(UNC) and graduated with Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology in 1995 and attended medical school. After medical school, Rufus decided to return back to Nigeria to represent his community and contest for the Federal House of Representative. He was in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 for the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He has also been given the chieftaincy title of Ikemba (the strength of the town or the federal constituency in this case) by his community in Nigeria. As a House of Representative, he focused mainly on Poverty Alleviation and Health Issues. Following his term as a Representative, be became the Senior Special Adviser to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives on Governmental affairs from 2011 to 2015.

Currently, he is a Senior Special Adviser to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on governmental affairs for the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Rufus has a special in interest in helping the less privilege and poverty alleviation. He enjoys traveling and exploring new places, meeting people, debating and sports.
